The director of Calibre Care Compliance Ltd, Andrew McMullen, started operating his own care consultancy in 2007. With a growing reputation and an expanding number of customers, Calibre Care Compliance Ltd was formed in 2010.
Between 2002 and 2007, Andrew was a Regulation Manager with CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection), and the NCSC (National Care Standards Commission), these being the regulators prior to the formation of CQC. During this time he managed teams of inspectors. From 1998 to 2002, Andrew was an inspector with a local authority, with care regulation being arranged through local and health authorities at that time.
Andrew has worked at all levels in care establishments since the mid-1980s and managed care homes in both the voluntary and public sectors between 1990 and 1998, before moving into regulation. He has an MSc in Quality Assurance and Inspection (post graduate diploma), and the City and Guilds 325 qualification ‘Advanced Management for Care.’
As such, a skilled and knowledgeable service is provided, with extensive experience in both social care and regulation. The company has a thorough understanding of care services, the legal frameworks registered providers operate within, relevant standards and regulations, and the operations of CQC.
